When is the best time to plant a tree? The textbook answer to that is 20 years ago but, the second best answer is today. The same goes for changing your life.
If I had a chance to talk to my 18 year old self I would tell him/me that there is far more to life then accumulating possessions. My houses were always beautiful but they were never homes. They never felt lived in. I worked long days to pay for the big house, the sports car, the boat and the other accoutrements of materialism but, I never lived. I thought those things were important but I was wrong.
The thing that is important is to have a dream and to follow that dream. Five years ago I decided to follow my dream. As a lover of all that is beautiful about nature, my dream was to build a little house in the woods and spend my time as close to nature as I could.
I made that dream come true and for the first time in my life I felt that I was home. I loved my life up here in the woods immensely but, I am growing older and I realize that my love of nature is somewhat affected by weather.
I am going to start over once again and follow my dream in Costa Rica. Yes it rains in Costa Rica but, rain at 25° C is more fun then snow at – 40° C.
I will arrive in Costa Rica in a few days to find a place to live.
