Whether you have been forced to look at my page for the last 7 years or even for just for the last 7 weeks, you know how much I love Costa Rica. I fell in love with the country on my first visit and absolutely nothing has happened to dissuade me from those feelings but, every single day has served to reinforce my love.
Last March, I submitted my application for temporary residency. A few days ago I got an email advising that my application had been approved.
I did not post about it at the time because I needed to go through applying for Costa Rica Social Security, CAJA for short, and who knows what could go wrong. I’m glad I waited because Costa Rica runs on “Pura Vida” or shall I say “Murphy’s Law” and this morning it took over 3 hours to make that a fait accompli.
With the final paperwork in place and having paid my first CAJA payment, I am ready for the final appointment to apply for the Migratory Identity Document for Foreigners in Costa Rica (DIMEX).
After that, hopefully it will be a few short weeks and I will receive my Dimex Card and, I will officially be a temporary resident of Costa Rica.
