When I bought the house I knew that something had to be done with the shower room. There were any number of other things I wanted to do around the house and the shower was functional so, I put it off.
Finally a few months ago, the day arrived when I decided it was time to finally have a go at the shower. After many conversations with my design consultant, who shall remain nameless, and a number of trips to tile stores, I were ready to start. I must advise you at this point that my design consultant was adamantly opposed to some of my choices, nevertheless regarding the wall of leaves, I followed my heart.
The Japanese tub, with two benches facing each other was the first thing that had to go. It was quite a challenge for Henry as the wall and benches turned out to be solid concrete. My house was full of cement dust for over a week as they hammered/chipped away at it. Eventually the space was cleared out and it was time to begin tiling.
I mocked up photos of the bench I wanted for the shower stall and the new countertop and doors for the sink. I presented them to Luis who has done all the woodwork so far in my house and gave him the job. By the time the tiling of the shower stall was done Luis had completed the woodwork and we began removing the concrete counter and clearing out the space for the new sink.
I installed new lighting and a towel shelf in the shower stall as well as lighting over the sink.
Although I still need to hook up the plumbing, I am very pleased with the result.
Pura Vida.
