As I lie here in my chaise lounge, looking out at my gardens, I realize that it’s been 4 months today since I moved to Costa Rica.
What have I been doing you ask? Living the dream lol. Life here is much slower and more relaxed. Mañana could mean tomorrow or it could mean soon lol. No one seems to be in too much of a hurry except perhaps the drivers. Don’t get me started.
So what have I been up to? Keeping the casa clean, taking care of three cats, gardening and birding. As far as birding goes, I have been keeping you up to date on Facebook and this week, I added a link to Instagram that would allow you to peruse my photos at your leisure.
That brings us back to gardening. When I bought the house, the gardens had not been tended in quite some time. There are many large beautiful plants but the gardens themselves were not in great shape and the hedge had taken over much of it’s accompanying garden. I started on that one first removing wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of brush and started digging and preparing the beds. Fortunately plants down here are quite inexpensive and I have made many trips to the Viveros. All in all, I have brought three gardens back to life and added two new ones. I have also planted a number of new bushes, shrubs and plants here and there around the property.
The gardens are a rough work in progress but, should be nice by September. Meanwhile, here are a few images as it looks today.
